Search teams in Lough Ree find missing fisherman's boat

The search for missing Armagh man Darryl Burke has been ongoing for almost two weeks.

THE SEARCH TEAM looking for the missing fisherman in Lough Ree found his boat and other debris last evening.

Eight divers from the Lough Ree sub-aqua club found the boat in the Ballybay area of the lake.

The search for missing Armagh man Darryl Burke has been ongoing for almost two weeks.

Burke was angling after two of his friends on Thursday 20 March when the accident happened.

The two other men were were rescued from the water but one of them, 27-year-old David Warnock, later died.

Divers and boat search teams from the Garda Síochána, Naval Service and RNLI have been involved in the search and have been backed up by members of the public who have been helping the search with their own vessels.

After last night’s breakthrough, search teams will assess conditions this morning resuming the searching.
