Woman taken to hospital after Luas collision at midday

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision, which involved a car.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING a collision on the Luas Red line at Tallaght today.

The collision involving a car and the Luas occurred shortly after 12 midday.

The Luas is now closed in both directions at the Tallaght Hospital stop.

According to a statement on the Luas website, an alternative bus service will service all stops between Belgard and Tallaght in the meantime.

A female passenger from the tram was taken to hospital for treatment – her condition is not believed to be life threatening.
