Woman taken to hospital after Luas collision at midday

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision, which involved a car.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING a collision on the Luas Red line at Tallaght today.

The collision involving a car and the Luas occurred shortly after 12 midday.

The Luas is now closed in both directions at the Tallaght Hospital stop.

According to a statement on the Luas website, an alternative bus service will service all stops between Belgard and Tallaght in the meantime.

A female passenger from the tram was taken to hospital for treatment – her condition is not believed to be life threatening.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Tallaght Garda station on 01 6666000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
