Man in his 50s arrested after suspected bomb discovered at Tallaght home

The suspect device was removed for analysis by the Defence Forces EOD team.

A MAN IN his 50s has been arrested after the discovery of what gardaí called a “suspect device” in a south Dublin housing estate.

Gardaí searched the house on Dominic’s Terrace in Tallaght at 8am this morning.

During this search, which was part of an ongoing garda investigation, the suspected bomb was discovered.

The Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was called, and this unit removed the bomb for analysis.

The man was arrested at the scene, and he was brought to Tallaght Garda Station where he is being detained under Section 30 of Offences Against the State Act 1939.
