Man charged in connection with Limerick city shooting

The shooting happened at around 2.30pm on the southside of Limerick city on Tuesday.

A MAN HAS been charged in connection with a shooting in Limerick on Tuesday afternoon.

The shooting happened at around 2.30pm on the southside of the city.

Gardaí have confirmed that a man was injured in the incident and admitted himself to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.

The man in his 20s was arrested shortly after.

He is due to appear before Limerick District Court this afternoon charged in relation to the incident.

Gardaí have launched an investigation.

A second man in his mid 20s has been arrested in the Limerick city area this afternoon in relation to this investigation.

Both men were detained under Section 30, Offences Against the State Act, 1939 at Henry Street Garda Station.
