21-year-old man dies after car collides with truck

Part of the Ballycanew to Wexford road is closed and diversions in place.

A 21-YEAR-OLD MAN has died after the car he was driving collided with a truck early this morning.

The crash took place at around 5.25am on the Ballycanew to Wexford road (R741), one mile outside Ballycanew.

The driver of the car was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.

His remains have been removed to Wexford General Hospital.

The driver of the truck (29) was uninjured in the collision. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

The road is closed to facilitate a forensic collision examination and local diversions in place.
