Man hospitalised after attack during burglary in Antrim

A 23-year-old man was injured after four men pushed their way into a property and attacked him with baseball bats.

POLICE IN ANTRIM are appealing for information about an assault and aggravated burglary in Antrim last night.

A 23-year-old man was injured after four men pushed their way into a property in the Castlemara Drive shortly after 9.30pm on Saturday. The victim, who was a visitor to the property, was assaulted with baseball bats.

The injured man was take to hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life threatening at this stage, according to the PSNI.

Anyone who witnessed the attack or who has any information is asked to contact police at Carrick on 0845 600 8000. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
