25-year-old man to appear in court over fatal stabbing of woman in Cork

The woman’s husband was also injured in the assault.

A 25-YEAR-OLD MAN is due to appear before Cork District Court at 10.30am today in relation to the death of a 60-year-old woman.

The woman, named locally as Marian Horgan, was found dead at her house on Murmont Avenue, Montenotte, on Monday morning.

Her husband Billy also sustained a number of stab wounds in the assault and was taken to Mercy University Hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The 25-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is being detained at Mayfield garda station.
