Man arrested over pub helicopter crash is released

He was arrested last night.

A MAN ARRESTED in connection with a helicopter crash on Wednesday night has been released without charge.

The helicopter crashed at about 9.15pm in Abbeyshrule next to the Rustin Inn, with a number of witnesses capturing the event on video.

Last night, a man in his early 60s was arrested in Dublin and brought to Longford garda station.

He was released in the early hours of this morning and a file was sent to the DPP.

Two members of the Air Accident Investigation Unit Go-Team attended the scene, and an investigation into the crash is underway.

There were no serious injuries reported as a result of the crash.
