Colm Deely, a married man from School Road, Ballyvaughan, Co Clare, was charged with the murder of Deirdre McCarthy, reports RTE. The father of two has been remanded in custody to appear before Ennistymon District Court in Kilrush next Wednesday.

Deirdre’s body was found on Fanore beach in Co Clare last Thursday.
