Dublin Dart and train delays after 'truckwit' smashes gates at level crossing

The incident happened this morning at the Merrion gates.

THERE’S ONGONG DISRUPTION to Dart and train services after a vehicle transporter damaged the Merrion gates near Booterstown this morning.

Full services have been resumed but Iarnród Éireann is advising train users that there are delays of up to 15 minutes.

Irish Rail posted a video of the incident online showing the truck going through the gates as they are being lowered and catching the gate and dragging it before driving off.

There are a number of workers at the gates at time, one of whom pretty much sums up the incident.
