More water supply disruptions in Dublin homes

A burst of a large water main in Dublin is currently being repaired by engineers but homes will be without water until tomorrow evening.

THERE WILL BE significant disruptions to the water supply across houses in Dublin today following a major burst on a water mains at Swords.

Engineers are currently carrying out repairs but Fingal County Council has advised that a total water loss may be experienced by those living in the Lissenhall to North Street area.

The council estimates that water will be restored by 11pm on Saturday night.

In the meantime, tankers will be provided. However, it may take some hours to sanitise and install them at the locations required.

There could also be “intermittent interruptions” over the coming days across other areas, including Clare Hall, Darndale, Donaghmede, Artane, Coolock and Santry. A map highlighting the affected regions in Dublin City Council’s area can be downloaded here.

The councils apologised to consumers affected by the disruption.

If you are living in the area and would like more information, Fingal County Council can be reached on 01 890 6210 during office hours and 01 873 1415 after-hours, while Dublin County Council are contactable on 01 222 2222 or 01 679 6186 (after-hours).
