THE NORTHERN IRELAND Ambulance Service is attending the scene of a dance music gig in Belfast, where a number of youths are being treated for drink and drugs.
A ‘major incident’ has been declared at the arena, where Dutch DJ Hardwell is performing.
Up to 60 people are being treated for the effects of drink and drugs, an Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed.
It is not yet known the seriousness of those affected. Other reports say that there was an incident with a bus at the arena.
Management at the Arena said that a “a number of patrons” had arrived already intoxicated.
“These patrons were not granted entry and were treated by the Ambulance Service outside.
“Seven patients have now been transferred to hospital by ambulance.”
The statement went on to say that safety is the arena’s “absolute priority”.
