Number of swine flu deaths in Northern Ireland reaches 21
Of the 21 people to die from the H1N1 virus since November, 18 are confirmed to have had underlying health problems.
THE NUMBER OF swine flu-related deaths in Northern Ireland since November has reached 21.
Northern Ireland’s Public Health Agency have confirmed that 18 of the people who have passed away had underlying health problems. Two did not have any underlying health problems, and it is unknown whether a third person did.
Since the agency’s last media briefing one week ago, four more people have died – including a 10-month-old baby, RTÉ reports.
A two-year-old boy from the Republic who died in a Northern Ireland hospital after suffering from swine flu has not been included in the 21 cases, as his death was registered in the Republic.
