Gardaí want to speak to person who called them before pedestrian was killed

The 26-year-old was killed on the N52 at Durrow, Co Offaly.

A MAN HAS died following a fatal road crash in Offaly.

A 26-year-old male pedestrian was struck by a car and suffered fatal injuries at around 1.40am this morning.

Gardaí are investigating the crash that occurred at Durrow, Co Offaly on the N52 Kilbeggan to Tullamore road. They have specifically appealed to someone who may have called them before the incident.

Gardaí at Tullamore Garda Station are appealing for this caller to contact them on 057 9327600.

The driver of the car, a man, was not injured.

A section of the road has been closed to allow a garda forensics team to investigate.

A spokesperson for the gardaí said: “Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information, particularly those who were travelling on the N52 this morning to contact Tullamore Garda station on 057-9327600 The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda station.”
