A NEW PENNEYS store has opened its doors in the United States.
The new branch, operating under the Primark name, is situated in the King of Prussia shopping mall on the outskirts of Philadelphia in the state of Pennsylvania.
The store was opened earlier today by the Irish ambassador to the United States Dr Anne Anderson.
Speaking about the move, the company’s CEO Paul Marchant, said: “Our first mall opening comes with added excitement as we approach the holiday shopping season with our offering of amazing fashion at amazing prices for all the family.
This follows other major international openings in the last six months for the store in Madrid and Boston.
It brings the number of Primark stores internationally to 297 spread across 10 countries.
The store has big plans ahead for further expansion into the United States in 2016.
This will see openings in Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and New York.
Another two stores are also set to open next month in Dordrecht in the Netherlands and in Edinburgh in Scotland.
