PHOTOS: People living on Donegal islands go to the polls

Some of the 750 voters on the islands off the Donegal coast cast their ballots in the referendum today, three days before the rest of the country.

FOR MOST OF the country’s 3.2 million registered voters, polling day for the Fiscal Compact referendum will be this Thursday – but things are different off the coast of Donegal.

The 750 people living on the five islands off the Donegal coast – Inishfree, Arranmore, Gola, Inishboffin and Tory Island – had the chance to cast their ballots today, three days before the rest of the country.
