JJ, I’d be fairly it was loyalists, probably drugs related. I don’t think Dunmurry would be a particularly nationalist area, although I could be wrong on that.

You’re posts below seem to be confusing to me! you say summehill mews is in twinbrook (which is obviously nationalist), but then you go on to say that twinbrook is in dunmurry, but you don’t seem to sure about it. My guess about who was involved was based on the article saying that the incident took place in dunmurry, which I don’t think is a nationalist area.

It was in Twinbrook, but the wider area is Dunmurry, and while Dunmurry is mixed, Twinbrook is a Catholic area. And although I don’t know Twinbrook, only the wider area of Dunmurry I did take a quick look at google street view and across the road is a park with an Irish name above the English one, the school next door is a Catholic one and some of the street names have the hand painted Irish names, so it’s safe to assume its a nationalist area and therefore who is responsible for the shooting. But it seems a lot of people posting don’t bother to check facts and seem to automatically connect it to Loyalists. We all know loyalist paramilitaries do terrible things, but so do republican ones.

You are incorrect there Gerard. I listen to the BBC news everyday and the situation has received extensive coverage on the radio.

Disagree in some respects gerrard, whilst i do believe the parliment should speak out more against the riots. The media have been reporting heavily enough on said riots. Its pretty much all i hear about in the media any time i’m in belfast.

Rob and Gerard take me back to my childhood in primary school. I remember two dunces who used to have to stand in the corner facing the wall for varying times and various infractions. They used to continuously praise each other. They were under the impression that they were always right and the rest of us were stupid. We had other ideas but it was pointless trying to explain it these ‘smart’ guys.

Summerhill Mews is in Twinbrook, a Nationalist area, the school next door is StColms High school, a catholic school and the park opposite has an Irish name as do some of the nearby streets and anyone can check those details on Google street view, so you are a lier.

Tsk tsk. Name calling is not needed. I lived in dunmurry for 17 years so i am not a liar. However i am wrong. Summerhill is in twinbrook and is nationalist but it is not in dunmurry. Sunnyhill is loyalist and is in dunmurry.

While I salute you for admitting you are wrong, I disagree that Summerhill is not in Dunmurry, a Google search of Summerhill mews brings up the postal address of Summerhill Mews, Dunmurry, Belfast, BT17 0LG.

Well it was probably the PSNI who gave journal the info and area and called it Dunmurry, or the BBC or UTV who also both called it Dunmurry!
