Second man dies following Kilkenny car crash

Yesterday’s crash has claimed the life of a second victim.

A SECOND YOUNG man has died following a car crash in Kilkenny yesterday afternoon.

The 20-year-old was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital following the single-car collision at 1.20pm but died from his injuries today.

Gardaí in Thomastown confirmed to TheJournal.ie that the second victim died in hospital this morning after battling serious injuries overnight. He has been named as Martin Duggan.

A third man, aged 19,  remains in hospital but his condition has been described as stable.

Yesterday, a 19-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene on the Mullinavat to Waterford road, about 3km outside Mullinavat. He has been named locally as Seán Malone, a Ballyhale Shamrocks hurler.
