SELF-CONFESSED PSYCHIC Flathan has said that he doesn’t have any knowledge of the recent complaints about the show Psychic Readings Live, which have been upheld by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI).
His response comes a month before he is due to arrive in the country, where people will have a “unique opportunity to meet Flathan for an interview and question him about his work, his private life and his stay in Dublin.”
Speaking to TheJournal.ie, he said:
I cannot talk about the complaints, I don’t have any knowledge. I make it [the show] just for myself.
Asked how he felt about TV3 branding the show and, in turn, the readings as an “entertainment service”, he put this down to Ireland’s rules, saying “the problem with psychic readers is that they have a lot of rules in different countries.”
The BAI have upheld two complaints against the broadcast – neither of which was related to Flathan – where the health issues of callers were discussed.
The BAI have since asked TV3 to outline how they intend to address the upheld issues.
Flathan’s visit also offers the chance to “report about his encounter with one of his Irish fans who will be selected at a contest in the run-up to the event and who will spend an evening with Flathan.”
Speaking of the upcoming trip, he said : “I have a lot of positive followers in Ireland.”
