Woman (20s) found dead in Cork city this morning

The discovery was made early this morning at a vacant property.

THE BODY OF a young woman has been found in a building in Cork city.

The 22-year-old’s body was discovered when gardaí and emergency services were called to a vacant premises on Sheares Street, Cork city centre today at around 6.50am.

The office of the State Pathologist and local coroner were notified and her body has since been removed to University Hospital Cork.

A forensic examination of the scene is currently underway and a post mortem is due to take place tomorrow.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them at the Bridewell Garda Station 021 4943330 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
