LAST YEAR, The Cut started its 100 Years of Beauty series showing us changing styles in the US over the decades.

This month, they have taken a closer look at how the beauty ideal has changed in the Philippines since the early 1900s.

The model, April Villanueva, also takes on certain demeanours that would have been seen as representative of the time.
