1. #DUBLIN BUS: Transport services in Dublin are likely to be severely affected from Sunday if unions representing Dublin Bus workers push ahead with strike plans, as the company revealed today it has no contingency plan.

2. #RTÉ: The state broadcaster ran up a net deficit of €65.2 million last year despite losing 270 staff which contributed savings of €18 million.

3. #NURSES: Fourth year student nurses and midwives will be paid €2 less an hour than the minimum wage this year for the first 12 weeks of their training placements and their pay will remain below the minimum wage for the remaining 24 weeks.

4. #SNOWDEN: Fugitive US intelligence leaker Edward Snowden has finally been allowed to leave a Moscow airport after being granted temporary asylum in Russia.

5. #SILLY: A councillor in Northern Ireland is calling for an all-Ireland ban on the sale of silly string because it’s “messy” and “unsightly”. However the Department of the Environment here said it currently has no plans to ban it.
