HOUSE-HUNTING? HERE are five properties in the north Wicklow area that are open for viewing this weekend.

The area: North Wicklow is described as the ‘Gateway to the Garden of Ireland’ with good reason – it provides ease of access to soaring mountainscapes, stunning coastline and sweeping estates like the famous Powerscourt Gardens and waterfall near Enniskerry. One of the most popular cliffwalk attractions in the area  is the Bray Head to Greystones route, taking in sea vistas and the chance of a bit of dolphin and seal-spotting on the way.

Sporting and leisure amenities go hand in hand with such scenery (think golf clubs like Druid’s Glen, Delgany, Powerscourt, Greystones; tennis courts, GAA, rugby, bowls, swimming and athletics facilities). Foodies are in luck too with a range of restaurants in Bray and Greystones, great craft butchers, farmers’ markets and Avoca in easy reach. It’s a nice life… and there’s always a DART or bus to whip you away to Dublin city.
