GERRY ADAMS WAS in attendance today, as Prince Charles and his wife Camilla continued their visit to Ireland with a trip to the British Ambassador’s residence in Glencairn.
Adams and the Prince shared a handshake, and even a joke, at an event where attendees included Tánaiste Frances Fitzgerald and Garda Commissioner Nóirín O’Sullivan.
Also on the agenda for the Royal couple today was a visit to Glasnevin Cemetery, and the Botanical Gardens.
The Sinn Féin leader is said to have been offered the Prince’s condolences on the death of Martin McGuinness and Charles, who was born a month after Adams, joked that the veteran politician was even older than he is.
The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall visited various locations around Dublin today, including government buildings and Our Lady’s Hospice in Harold’s Cross.
