Trains suspended between Pearse and Dún Laoghaire due to 'significant' damage to overhead lines

From 9pm, no services will operate between Connolly and Dún Laoghaire.

LAST UPDATE | 5 Mar

ALL TRAIN SERVICES are currently suspended in Dublin between Pearse and Dún Laoghaire due to “significant damage” to the overhead line equipment.

Irish Rail has said its staff are working to repair the damage but warned that disruption is expected to continue for an “extended period of time,” including during this evening’s peak service.

From 9pm, no services will operate between Connolly and Dún Laoghaire to facilitate repairs.

There is no Dart service between Pearse and Dún Laoghaire, and Irish Rail says Leapcards can be used on all TFI transport in the affected area, subject to capacity.

Dart services are operating between Howth / Malahide and Pearse, and between Dún Laoghaire and Bray / Greystones only, though delays may result.

On the Rosslare Intercity, bus transfers will operate between Connolly and Bray for Rosslare services.

Significant delays may result due to availability of buses and traffic conditions.

The Connolly to Rosslare Europort meanwhile has been cancelled and on the 18:28 Connolly to Wexford, a bus transfer will operate from Connolly directly to Bray, while a train will operate from Bray to Wexford.

Meanwhile, Northern Commuter/Maynooth Commuter/Phoenix Park Tunnel services are starting from Pearse Station, where possible.

Knock-on delays can also be expected to all services in the city centre due to congestion on the line

Irish Rail has apologised to customers for the inconvenience caused.
