#Áras11 diary: Where the candidates will be today

AS THE CAMPAIGN for the presidential election continues, check out where you can meet the candidates today:

Mary Davis will spend the day meeting shoppers in Dublin – first up is Sutton Cross from 10am, followed by Clare Hall Shopping Centre at 11am. She will be canvassing at the Pavilions Shopping Centre in Swords from noon and move on to Blanchardstown Shopping Centre from 2.3opm. Liffey Valley Shopping Centre is her next stop at 3.30pm before finishing up at Dundrum Town Centre between 4.45pm and 5.30pm.

Seán Gallagher starts his day with a walkabout in Bundoran in Donegal at 9am before heading to Ballyshannon at 9.50am. There will be another walkabout in Donegal Town from 10.40am and he will meet voters in Ballybofey from noon. At 1.15pm he will visit Tesco’s in Letterkenny and have lunch in the Bread and Breakfast Café. Gallagher will attend a meeting with Inishowen Development Partnership from 3.35pm before a walkabout to meet local voters in Culdaff.  At 5.45pm, he will meet the Rugged Peaks Challenge Team. He will end his day at the Letterkenny Rugby Club Dinner Dance.

Michael D. Higgins is to unveil his posters ‘as Gaeilge’ outside the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin with the Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore. He will then move on to greet shoppers outside JC Supermarket in Swords with MEP Prionsias De Rossa and TD Brendan Ryan from 2.15pm. There will be a walkabout in Donaghmede Shopping Centre from 1.30pm.

Martin McGuinness kicks off his day at St Francis HSE Nursing Home in Newcastle, Galway at 9am. He then travels to Ballinasloe for some canvassing at the Shearwater Hotel and in the town centre. He will also meet people at the town’s Drug Awareness Group, Arts Group, GAA and Horse Fair. McGuinness is due to arrive in Bundoran in Donegal at 5.30pm, where he will participate in a walkabout and meet with local groups. From 8pm, he will attend a rally of supporters at the Clanree Hotel in Letterkenny.

Gay Mitchell visits the Headfort Arms Hotel in Kells, Co. Meath at 11am this morning before stopping at Navan Shopping Centre for a walkabout at 11.50am. There will be another walkabout in Trim Castle Hotel from 12.45pm. He will then have lunch at O’Keeffe’s in Kilcock, Co. Kildare before travelling for more canvassing on Main Street, Maynooth (from 2.30pm). From 3.15pm, he will be meeting people at Manzors in Clane.

David Norris will be at the Art Teacher Association event at the Camden Court Hotel in Dublin from 12.15pm. He will then meet shoppers at Dundrum Shopping Centre from 2.30pm before moving on to Crowe’s in Ballsbridge at 5pm.

Dana Rosemary Scallon will spend the day canvassing in Galway City. First up is St. Nicolas Market at 9.30am and Shop Street at 10.30am. From 1pm, she will be meeting people at Galway Shopping Centre.
