Man arrested after death of pedestrian in road collision

The collision involved one car. Police are now seeking witnesses to the incident.

A MAN HAS been arrested in connection with the death of a pedestrian in a road collision today.

The PSNI said that a 63-year-old man has died following a one-vehicle road traffic incident shortly before 10.25am today.

The incident involved a dark-coloured Audi A4 car and a pedestrian on the Monaghan Road, Aughnacloy area.

A man (51) has been arrested in relation to the incident and is currently helping police with their inquiries.

Motorists are advised to seek alternative main routes for their journey as police continue to attend the scene.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone who was travelling on the Monaghan Road around the time of the incident, to contact the police on 0845 600 8000.
