YESTERDAY SAW IVAN Yates end up in another presidential political row, after it emerged that he had coached Fianna Fáil’s Jim Gavin for the campaign.
The former Fine Gael minister has now been dumped by his co-host and journalist Matt Cooper from the Path to Power podcast they present.
The Business Post first reported that Cooper had ended his partnership with Yates after The Irish Independent yesterday morning reported Yates had been involved in debate preparation for Jim Gavin.
Cooper said in a statement he was unaware of this and believes it should have been disclosed to him.
It brings an end to a partnership that saw the two present the late night political affairs from 2017 to 2021, before they launched the podcast two years ago.
In that time they were able to bring the show on the road via the 3Olympia Theatre in Dublin. It’s future is now uncertain, although Cooper has indicated he intends to find a new host.
So, tell us: Do you listen to Path to Power?
