Man (40s) dies in hospital following serious assault last week in west Dublin

Gardaí confirmed the man passed away in an update on Sunday evening.

A MAN HAS died in hospital following a serious assault in the early hours of last Friday morning in west Dublin.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses in their investigation into the incident, which occurred at Parslickstown Drive, Mulhuddart, Dublin 15 on 3 July at approximately 3.55am.

The deceased man, aged in his 40s, had been conveyed to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

But in an update on Sunday evening, gardaí confirmed the man has since passed away.

The office of the local Coroner has been notified, and a post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course.

This investigation is being coordinated from an incident room at Blanchardstown Garda Station under the direction of a senior investigating officer.

A family liaison officer has been appointed to the family.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information about this incident or who may have video footage – including dash-cam – who were in the area of Parslickstown, Mulhuddart, between 3am and 4.30am on Friday 3 July.
