Woman in her 20s killed after being hit by car

The woman was hit by a car in Glasson, near Athlone on Wednesday.

GARDAÍ IN ATHLONE are investigating a crash that killed a woman in her 20s.

The fatal road traffic collision occurred in Glasson Village, near Athlone on Wednesday morning. The woman died from her injuries last night.

The 24-year-old female pedestrian suffered serious injuries when she was struck by a car.

She was taken to Tullamore General Hospital and later transferred to Beaumont Hospital where she passed away yesterday evening. A post mortem is to be arranged.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to this collision to contact Athlone Garda Station on 090 – 6498550, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
