Under-16s in Australia will soon be blocked from accessing social media platforms.
META WILL REMOVE all Australian users under the age of 16 from Facebook, Instagram and Threads on 4 December.
The ban comes ahead of Australia’s social media age-restriction law, which takes effect on 10 December.
Under the new legislation, platforms including Facebook, Instagram and TikTok will be required to block or remove users under 16 or face hefty fines.
Australia is the first country in the world to introduce a social media ban for children.
