ST PATRICK’S DAY may only last 24 hours, but the excitement of one particular tradition can last all year long (for some of us, anyway).

If you don’t know what we’re talking about, Big Bird’s annual appearance on his quad bike at the Rush St Patrick’s Day parade has become something of a spectacle in recent years – both in the north Dublin village and online.

For context, here’s a clip of Big Bird pulling a wheelie in 2022.

We don’t know much about this particular Big Bird (seriously, who is behind the feathers?), but we’re taking this opportunity to honour the commitment of whoever shows up year in, year out for the people.
