WHEN POPULAR POSTMAN Paddy Hughes passed away, his colleagues at James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown remembered one of his quirkier habits.
Paddy collected foreign currency from the home countries staff in the hospital and, as the workforce diversified, the collection grew.
After his death, hospital staff came together and created this memorial, which has been hung in the Cypress ward at the hospital.
The memorial features currency from all ends of the earth, including Iraqi Dinar, Nepalese Ruppee and Thai Baht.
