The British Monarchy has spoken in Irish

On Twitter, but still.

THE CLOSENESS BETWEEN Ireland and Britain just grows and grows.

We have their monarch over for tea, then they repay the favour, now they’re even tweeting in our native tongue.

Granted, we use theirs quite a bit, but it’s still impressive. Today the Twitter account of the British Monarchy tweeted this:

The statement translates to a confirmation of the arrangements for the upcoming visit of President Michael D Higgins to London and Coventry.

Fair play.
