Campaigner Kevin Boyle passes away

HUMAN RIGHTS CAMPAIGNER Prof Kevin Boyle has died. Boyle, originally from Newry, was one of the founders of the civil rights movement in the North. He was the founding director of the Irish Centre for Human Rights at NUIG and the Human Rights Centre at the University of Essex, where he was recently conferred with an honorary MA. Human Rights in Ireland reports that Boyle also served as a special advisor to former Irish President Mary Robinson during her tenure as the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
