Good news! 150 new jobs for Cork
Recruitment for engineers with varying levels of experience is to begin immediately.
GLOBAL NETWORK SECURITY firm FireEye is to establish a base in Cork, creating 150 new jobs for the area.
The company, which provides software protection against web and email next-generation security threats, will open its Europe, Middle East and Asia technical support centre in the city.
Its products are involved in planning for ‘Advanced Persistent Threats’ to detect on-going hacking.
The 150 positions will be filled by support engineers with varying levels of experience. Recruitment is to begin immediately.
FireEye’s investment is supported by the Department of Jobs through IDA Ireland. Jobs Minister Richard Bruton said there have been more than 10,000 ICT jobs created since the government took office in 2011.
“Ireland is becoming a leading location for companies dedicated to fighting cybercrime and other ‘next generation’ threats,” added IDA chief executive Barry O’Leary.
