A Cork woman has died in Spain.
Cork’s 96FM is reporting the 21-year-old woman, who is believed to have been on holiday, fell from a balcony. It is understood gardaí have informed her family.
A Department of Foreign Affairs spokeswoman said: “The Department of Foreign Affairs is providing consular assistance”.
No further details were immediately available.
The news comes as it emerged Garda Ombudsman Commissioner Kieran Fitzgerald is in a critical condition in hospital in Spain after falling off a wall onto rocks while on holidays.
He was seriously injured at La Coruna in northern Spain last week and placed in a medically-induced coma.
