Coronavirus: Five further deaths and 461 new cases confirmed in Ireland

The figures were released by NPHET in a statement this evening.

PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICIALS have reported that 461 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Ireland this evening.

In a statement, the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) also confirmed an additional five deaths of people with Covid-19.

This now brings the death toll to 4,872, while there have been 246,204 total cases of Covid-19 since the pandemic began.

Of the cases notified today:

  • 235 are men / 224 are women
  • 75% are under 45 years of age
  • The median age is 28 years old

The five-day moving average is 460.

Since 8am this morning, there are 162 patients currently receiving treatment in hospital for Covid-19. 46 of these are currently in ICU.

There have been nine more hospitalisations in the last 24 hours.
