Couple arrested for attacking staff - on their wedding day

And you thought you’ve been to some wild weddings.

AN ENGLISH COUPLE spent their wedding night apart – because they were in separate jail cells.

The unnamed couple – who are both in their 20s – had been married on 31 May and had been celebrating at the Hilton Hotel in Deansgate, Manchester, when they are alleged to have assaulted staff.

Police attended and arrested the man and woman on suspicion of affray and racially aggravated assault.

The couple, aged 25 and 29, have been bailed until July pending further enquiries.

Detective Constable Tim Hanson, appealed for information, saying that the couple’s attire should spark memories.

“This young couple had a wedding night they will never forget, sadly for them it was for all the wrong reasons.

“Clearly something has happened at the hotel that has sparked an incident and while we have a number of accounts from both sides we are keen to trace any independent witnesses who may have seen the incident.

I am certain seeing an incident involving a couple in full wedding attire will stick in the mind so if you were at the hotel or nearby and saw what happened or spoke to anyone involved please call us.
