Woman dies in early morning car crash

The woman was the only occupant of a car that struck a lamp post.

GARDAÍ IN DUBLIN are investigating a fatal single vehicle road traffic collision that left a 31-year-old woman dead.

The collision occurred at the junction of the Outer Ring road and Nangor road in Clondalkin at around 4.30am when a car collided with a lamp post. The woman, who was the sole occupant of the car was seriously injured in the collision.

The emergency services attended the scene. The seriously injured motorist was taken to Tallaght Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

The Outer Ring road is closed between the Baldonnell Road turn-off and the junction of the Nangor Road this morning for a forensic collision examination.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact then in Clondalkin on 01 6667600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
