One dead after truck and car collide near Macroom

The crash happened at around 6am this morning on the N22.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING a fatal road crash in Co Cork in the early hours of the morning near Macroom.

A truck and a car collided at around 6am, a garda spokesperson confirmed.

It happened on the N22 main Cork to Killarney Road east of Macroom at Four Mile Bridge.

A section of the road is closed at the moment, and diversions are in place.

No further information is available regarding the identity of the person killed.

It’s understood there was just one occupant in each vehicle.
