Ireland's cybersecurity experts met last week to strengthen cyber-resilience against AI

Cyber Expo & Conference Ireland brings cybersecurity experts together under one roof.

CYBERSECURITY IS NOW a key consideration for businesses and organisations of all sizes, and only becomes more important with each passing day.

Cyber Expo & Conference Ireland 2026, hosted by Renaissance at the Leopardstown Pavilion in Dublin, provided a platform for key stakeholders from across Ireland’s cybersecurity landscape for a full day dedicated to innovation, collaboration, and cyber resilience.

The conference is now in its ninth year, and some of the key themes of this year’s event included collaboration, knowledge sharing, and practical cybersecurity solutions in helping Irish organisations strengthen their cyber resilience and respond to evolving security challenges.

With hundreds of attendees and dozens of experts and vendors on hand to provide invaluable insight, the conference is one of the leading forums where Irish businesses, state agencies and individuals can comprehensively equip themselves to face the many challenges raised by modern threats to cybersecurity. Those present included trusted producers of cybersecurity products, as well as VARs and MSPs in the IT security space.

By bringing these expert voices together with end users, the expo provides an essential space for those who manage cybersecurity to remain up-to-date in a field that is evolving rapidly and demands close attention.

The threat facing Irish organisations and businesses is always becoming more complex as technology becomes more sophisticated. Cyber Expo & Conference Ireland offered guests nine different dedicated conference sessions in order to provide a comprehensive overview of exactly what corporations, SMEs and state agencies need to be prepared for when it comes to safeguarding their systems from attackers. Topics at the forefront of this year’s discussions included artificial intelligence in cybersecurity, cyber governance, threat detection and response, data protection, compliance, and the evolving tactics used by cybercriminals.

The keynote session was delivered by Paul C. Dwyer, President of the International Cyber Threat Task Force (ICTTF) and CEO of Cyber Risk International. Titled Power, Politics and AI: The Global Forces Driving Cyber Risk in 2026, the talk explored how geopolitical pressures and emerging technologies are reshaping the cyber risk landscape. The closing panel brought together security leaders from across Irish industry: Paul C. Dwyer; Norman Newell, Sales Director at Renaissance; Kevin Reid, Head of Cyber Security at VM Group; Patrick Burgess, Co-Founder at Nutbourne Ltd and Educator at GTIA and Neal Mullen, Chief Information Security Officer at the Health Service Executive.

The panellists reflected on what they had heard throughout the day, shared what resonated most with their own organisations, and offered a candid perspective on the decisions that will define cybersecurity leadership in the year ahead. If you missed the event but are curious about what thought leaders in the cybersecurity space are focusing on, keep an eye out for video versions of the conference’s key talks, which will be uploaded to the Renaissance website.

On the expo floor, the conference also provided attendees with the opportunity to interact with 47 leading authorities in the cybersecurity space, including a range of vendors, IT Service Providers and experts. The exhibition area created space for meaningful conversations, which proved as valuable as the conference sessions, offering the chance to benchmark current approaches, discover emerging technologies, and build the partnerships that underpin a resilient security posture in an increasingly complex threat landscape.
