Gardaí seek photos and videos after couple attacked while walking on Dollymount beach

A man was hospitalised and five men were arrested.

A COUPLE WERE attacked while walking on Dollymount Strand in north Dublin on Tuesday night.

The incident happened at about 8pm with gardaí saying they were walking along the popular beach when they were first approached by a young man.

The young man took a pair of sunglasses from the other man’s hand and a confrontation ensued. The suspect and four other men then attacked the man before they fled the scene.

The man was left with injuries that required him be taken to Beaumont Hospital with gardaí saying that his injuries are not life-threatening.

Five men were arrested shortly after the incident and were taken to Clontarf and Raheny Garda Stations.

Gardaí are now seeking any witnesses to the assault and are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have taken pictures or videos of the incident.

Anyone who has any information should contact Clontarf Garda Station on 01-6664800 or any garda station.
