Man arrested in connection with 2011 stabbing of woman

The 44-year-old woman received serious stab wounds.

A MAN HAS been arrested in connection with a 2011 stabbing of a woman.

Gardaí investigating an incident in which a 44-year-old received serious stab injuries at her house on Donaghmede Park on the 8 April 2011 have this morning, arrested a 39-year-old man.

The woman who lived alone, was stabbed at her home in Donaghmede Park in what was described as a vicious assault. It was reported at the time that perpetrator had broken into the house and attacked the woman in her bed. Neighbours described the scene as “an abattoir”. The attacker left the scene covered in blood, gardaí say.

The man was arrested in Dublin and is currently detained at Coolock Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
