Waves off the Donegal coast yesterday were higher than three double deckers
An individual wave height of 21.5 metres was recorded by a Met Éireann buoy.
A NEW WAVE record was set at the M4 Donegal buoy yesterday, Met Éireann has announced.
A significant wave height (SWH) of 15.7 metres was recorded at 11am. This figure represents the average of the highest third of wave heights over a period. Before this, a SWH of 15.2 metres had been recorded back in January.
This buoy also recorded an impressive individual wave height of 21.5 metres around the same time, though this is less than the 23.4 metre wave recorded at the start of the year.
