Police investigating alleged serious sexual assault want to identify this man

They say he may have vital information that would help them with their inquiries into the alleged incident.

THE PSNI HAVE released a photo of a man they are hoping to identify to help them with their inquiries into an alleged serious sexual assault in Downpatrick, Co Down four weeks ago.

“We wish to identify and locate the man in this photograph as he may have vital information that could assist us with inquiries into an alleged assault in Downpatrick on May 10,” said Detective Inspector Adrian Brown of the PSNI’s Public Protection Unit.

The alleged victim of the attack, a woman in her early twenties, was accosted by her assailant in a house on Scotch Street in the town after a night out.

The PSNI have confirmed that ports, airports and other police forces have all been put on alert as the search for the woman’s attacker continues.

Anyone who recognises the man in the photograph or knows where he is asked to contact the PSNI incident room number 028 3836 6274 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
