One man charged after €100k worth of drugs seized in armed raids

Another male was released without charge.

ONE MAN HAS been charged following seizures of drugs with a total estimated street value of €100,000.

The raids took place on two houses in Kildare yesterday evening, and was part of an on-going operation by the Kildare Crime and Drugs Unit.

The armed Regional Support Unit assisted in both searches.

A 25-year-old man was arrested following a search of a property at Bishopsland in Kildare town in which €60,000 worth of cocaine, €20,000 worth of cannabis herb, and €10,000 worth of ecstasy tablets were seized.

He is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice later this afternoon.

A 26-year-old male was arrested after gardaí found €10,000 worth of cannabis herb at a house at Bell Harbour in Monasterevin, but has since been released without charge.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
