Sawn-off shotgun and drugs seized in Sligo search

Gardaí carried out the search as part of an investigation into organised crime in Sligo.

GARDAÍ HAVE SEIZED drugs and a gun as part of an investigation into organised crime in Sligo.

In a pre-planned search carried out on Wednesday, Gardaí discovered a sawn-off shotgun and an imitation firearm. Drugs with an estimated street value of €50,000 were also found in the search in the Forthill area of Sligo town.

No-one has been arrested in connection with the search but Gardaí have said that the investigation is ongoing.
