Drumm has been advising Anglo's clients

The former chief executive of Anglo Irish Bank has been advising customers of the bank.

THE FORMER CHIEF executive of Anglo Irish Bank David Drumm has been advising clients of the bank, RTÉ reports.

Drumm stood down from his post in the bank in December 2008, and Anglo has subsequently issued legal proceedings in relation to an €8m debt Drumm holds with the institution.

When the former executive, who now lives in Massachusetts, voluntarily filed for bankruptcy last month he included a details of his income and the money he owes to creditors.

The documents furnished to the court in the US show that Drumm earned €85,500 up to mid-October this year. Some of his earning came from advisory services he offered on management and organisational issues, strategy, acquisitions and disposals.

RTÉ reports that some of Drumm’s clients are also customers of Anglo, which is being wound down over a ten- to 15-year period with a potential cost to the taxpayer of €29bn to €34bn.
