Sunny and (mostly) dry weekend in store with temperatures to reach 22C
It comes after a week of unsettled weather that saw frequent heavy downpours interrupting clear skies.
AFTER A WEEK of on-and-off downpours and unsettled weather, we’re in for a dry and sunny weekend.
Met Éireann said this morning will be dull and damp with patchy outbreaks of light rain turning into heavier showers later this afternoon in Ulster. It will stay mostly dry and sunny elsewhere, with highs of 13 to 19C.
Saturday is set to be dry for the most part with plenty of sunshine, albeit a few light showers over northern counties. Highest temperatures of 14 to 22C, with the south and the east getting the warmest weather.
It will be mostly dry with clear spells and high cloud on Saturday night. Some coastal and hill fog will form, mostly in the south. Temperatures will fall to between 8 to 12C.
Sunday morning will have a cloudy start with some isolated showers over Ulster, though conditions will improve throughout the day with hazy sunny spells developing. Highest temperatures of 17 to 22C, mildest in the west.
Cloud will start to increase from the southwest on Sunday night towards, bringing patchy outbreaks of light rain, drizzle and mist. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 12C.
There will be more patchy rain and drizzle on Monday, with Met Éireann saying that mist will spread from the southwest and develop into showery outbreaks as it clears.
The national forecaster said the occasional sunny spell will also develop as the day goes on, and it will stay “rather humid” with highest temperatures of 17 to 21C.
